LESS DEPENDENCE ON YOU
CONFIDENT LEADERSHIP
PERSONAL FREEDOM
As your firm grows, the role that once made you successful can start to feel harder to carry and is actually an obstacle to continued success, both yours and your law firm’s. You may be trying to lead at a higher level, but the same meetings, decisions, client issues, and team questions keep pulling you back into the work you are trying to move beyond.
Your week fills with tasks that should no longer need your direct involvement.
Your team may be capable, but too many decisions still wait for your reassurance before they move forward.
Even when you know your role needs to change, the firm still relies on you to make the final call.
I know what it means to build a successful firm and then realize your role must change.
I practiced law for 25 years and owned and led a successful law firm for 16 of those years. I know what it means to have your name, reputation, clients, team, and future tied to the firm you built.
I also know what it feels like when the role that once gave you purpose starts to feel too small. When you are still responsible for the decisions, the standards, the clients, the team, and the future of the firm, even though part of you knows your definition of work needs to change.
I did not leave law because I was burned out. I loved practicing law, and I loved owning and leading my firm. I believe the law is a noble profession, which is why it was so difficult to watch so many of my peers suffer needlessly inside work that should have felt meaningful and fulfilling.
I knew there was a better way because I had experienced it myself. I had come to understand that a successful legal career can become too small if you never stop to ask who you are beyond the role, what you truly want next, and how you need to evolve as a leader and as a human being.
That is why I became a coach. I wanted to serve lawyers in a different way, coaching law firm founders and managing partners to reach their full potential, not just as accomplished attorneys, but as the elite CEOs and human beings their firms and lives now require.
Trusted Perspective
My perspective is shaped by years of legal practice, firm ownership, and professional coaching. I understand the responsibility, identity, and pressure that come with leading a successful law firm.
Move from default decision-maker to elite CEO.
I work with law firm founders and managing partners who have already built something successful, but now feel too central to everything they created. In 1:1 coaching, we look at the role you are still playing inside the firm, what keeps pulling you back into practitioner mode, and how your time, decisions, team, and leadership need to change so you can lead from a clearer CEO role. This is not remedial coaching. You are not broken. You just did not learn this part in law school.

There was much "nuts and bolts" work we did to help my practice function better. Ultimately though, the real "breakthrough" for me was one of mindset. We partnered together in a way that allowed me to tap into the vision and the passion that had been missing after several big setbacks for me and my firm.
Christian S., Richmond, VA
John delivered all that he promised and more. He took the time to learn who I was, my personality, and my strengths and weaknesses…. John met me where I was and helped me get to where I wanted to be.
Corey M., Boise, ID
Because of my work with John, I was able to negotiate in a difficult situation, stand up for myself, and achieve the outcome I wanted. I am also more focused, productive, and satisfied as a lawyer.
